Shopping at Swoops

Swoop's Pantry Policies

Swoop's Pantry is primarily funded by donations and grants. Tuition dollars are not allocated to fund the purchase of grocery items by the Pantry.

To keep the shelves stocked, shoppers need to follow the item limits established. Ex. "limit of 1 household item; 1 carton of eggs per household."

Failure to abide by the set item limits may result in restricted access to the pantry, including restriction on in-person shopping.

Shoppers should enter at the check-in desk and be prepared to display their physical EID card, or login to the MyEmich website to display their EID number. This can be found by going to the "Student Full Menu" tab, then clicking on "Personal Information." Photos/screenshots are accepted. You can go to Service EMU (RM 268 Student Center) and/or call 734-487-3176 to obtain an EID card.

The Pantry's administrative team is able to meet with shoppers as-needed to navigate other campus and community resources and to invite shoppers to participate in advocacy and outreach efforts.

Shoppers and Swoop’s team members are expected to follow University policies found in the EMU Student Handbook while at the Pantry.
